La Conchita is the first and only hotel in the frontier Pacific Island of Rapu-Rapu in the province of Albay. It is located at the heart of the town’s capital, Poblacion. Its sprawling grounds are enclosed with a high ten-meter concrete fence, topped by rows of bamboo splits for greater security and more rustic ambiance. It is named after the Chan family’s matriarch, Conchita. Just opposite its 3-storey main building is the Don Jose 4-storey Annex building named after the patriarch, Jose.
Available for guests are 14 fully air-conditioned guestrooms with en-suite private bathroom (hot and cold shower and toilet), a large open-air garden-events place, an infinity pool with jacuzzi, a café and restaurant and a roof garden with 360-degree panoramic view of the sea, the mountain ranges and the entire town proper.
NO BROWNOUT!
Electricity in Poblacion is only from 8 am to 12 midnight, followed by total blackout from 12 midnight to 8 am the following day. But in La Conchita, there is no blackout/brownout as it has a standby two generator sets – a brand new 50 KVAstate-of–the art Cummins genset, backed up by another brand new, electronically run 25 KVA genset thereby assuring continuous electric power supply to the hotel on a 24/7 basis.
NO WATER SHORTAGE!
By the grace of God, natural well-springs are found within the La Conchita compound which ensures a 24/7 fresh water supply to all the rooms and facilities of the hotel. This is a rarity in Rapu-Rapu where water supply is scarce especially during the summer months.
Moreover, La Conchita, with its latest high-tech machines, likewise produces its own mineral and alkaline water under its own brand, La Conchita Water, sourced from its natural springs in Mulakbugak and Morocborocan. Its water’s cleanliness and potability are duly certified by authorities. In addition, La Conchita is also the first to deliver water to residents for bathing, laundry and other household needs.
